The Role

Bruqe is seeking an Applied AI & Machine Learning Engineer to develop intelligent product capabilities that help transform complex information into usable strategic insight.

You will build machine-learning applications that enhance Bruqe’s decision tools, research workflows, and interactive analytical environments. Unlike a purely research-oriented machine-learning role, this position focuses on the practical application of models within products used by advisory teams and senior decision-makers.

What You Will Do

• Design and develop machine-learning capabilities for decision-support products, research tools, and interactive analytical workflows.

• Build applications that support tasks such as information extraction, classification, trend detection, forecasting, summarisation, and signal identification.

• Partner with product, design, data, research, and advisory colleagues to define user requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.

• Develop and maintain data interfaces, model services, APIs, and production-oriented pipelines supporting analytical products.

• Evaluate model performance, reliability, explainability, and suitability for use in high-stakes decision environments.

• Improve the usability of AI-generated outputs through thoughtful integration with dashboards, visualisations, and decision frameworks.

• Uphold high standards for testing, documentation, data governance, model monitoring, and responsible AI implementation.

What You Will Bring

• An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in computer science, machine learning, data science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical discipline.

• Experience developing machine-learning applications, intelligent software products, data platforms, or analytical tools.

• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with machine-learning, natural-language-processing, and data-processing libraries.

• Familiarity with API development, SQL, cloud services, data pipelines, version control, and production software-development practices.

• Experience translating technical requirements into user-centred products or working closely with product, design, and non-technical teams.

• A practical understanding of model limitations, evaluation methods, data quality, and explainability.

• Strong problem-solving ability, technical judgement, and an interest in building tools that improve real strategic decisions.
